Attorney Profiles

I have been practicing criminal law and procedure almost exclusively since 1998, first as a criminal prosecutor for six years.  I am Board Certifified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

In 2005 I decided to pursue a law practice outside of  the District Attorney's office with an exclusive focus on representing people accused of criminal offenses.  I have a proven record of obtaining favorable results for clients.  For a few examples, please view the Recent Results portion of this website.

As a prosecutor from 1999 to 2005 I tried over seventy cases to a jury and handled hundreds more successfully.  As a defense attorney, I have tried  many more cases and have achieved excellent results for my clients through careful understanding of the law and the facts- and tenacity. It is important to me to remain at the forefront of the developing law and defenses in my field.   For this reason, I am a member of the National College of DUI Defense and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.  In addition, I have completed the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner Course.  I have the same training in field sobriety testing as the police officers who are investigation DWI cases.

Below are just some of the continuing education courses I have taken recently.  Many deal specifically with DWI and defense of Intoxication related offenses.
